Drake Breaks Michael Jackson’s Billboard Hot 100 Record With 14th No. 1 Single

Drake

Drake has broken a major Billboard chart record previously held by Michael Jackson, becoming the solo male artist with the most No. 1 singles in Billboard Hot 100 history.

Drake’s latest single, Janice STFU, debuted at No. 1 following the release of his new trilogy of albums, giving the Toronto artist his 14th Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper.

The achievement moves Drake ahead of Michael Jackson’s long-standing total and places him level with Taylor Swift and Rihanna for the third-highest number of No. 1 singles overall.

Only Mariah Carey, with 19, and The Beatles, with 20, remain ahead.

Drake dominates Billboard charts with new album trilogy

Drake’s three new albums, Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour, also made Billboard history by debuting simultaneously at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 on the Billboard 200 albums chart dated 30 May.

The milestone makes Drake the first artist ever to occupy the top three positions on the Billboard 200 with new releases at the same time.

The chart success follows months of album teasers and promotional stunts across Toronto, including an ice-themed light show at the CN Tower and a large ice-block installation revealing the release date for Iceman.

Drake charts 42 songs on the hot 100

Across the three albums, Drake placed 42 songs simultaneously on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a new all-time weekly record.

The achievement surpasses the previous record held by Morgan Wallen, who charted 37 songs in a single week in 2025.

Nine Drake tracks entered the Top 10 during the same chart week, while 42 of the 43 songs released across the trilogy successfully entered the Hot 100.

The only track not to chart was “Where’s Your Stuff Interlude”, which was reportedly ineligible due to its short runtime.

Drake also extended his existing record for the most career Billboard Hot 100 entries, increasing his total from 362 to 402 songs. He becomes the first artist in Billboard history to surpass 400 career Hot 100 entries.

Taylor Swift currently sits second on the all-time list with 276 career entries.

Michael Jackson references continue throughout Drake’s new era

Drake has repeatedly referenced Michael Jackson throughout recent projects and performances, often framing his own chart legacy alongside the late pop icon’s achievements.

The cover artwork for Iceman appears to reference Jackson directly, featuring a rhinestone-covered glove similar to the singer’s famous stage accessory.

The trilogy also marks Drake’s first major solo release cycle since his widely publicised feud with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, with several lyrical references to the rivalry appearing across the albums.
