Duran Duran Featured On New Royal Mail Special Stamp Collection

Duran Duran will become the ninth music act to receive a dedicated Royal Mail Special Stamp issue, with the collection set to go on general sale on 17 September 2026.

The 12-stamp collection celebrates Duran Duran‘s music, visual identity and cultural impact, arriving during the 45th anniversary year of the band’s self-titled debut album and breakthrough single “Planet Earth”.

Royal Mail worked directly with the band on the design and selection of artwork featured across the collection.

Duran Duran album covers feature on eight stamps

The main set consists of eight stamps featuring iconic Duran Duran album covers from across five decades.

The albums represented are:

  • Duran Duran
  • Rio
  • Seven and the Ragged Tiger
  • Notorious
  • Duran Duran (The Wedding Album)
  • Astronaut
  • Paper Gods
  • Future Past

The selection charts the band’s career from their 1981 debut through to their more recent studio work.

A companion miniature sheet adds four further stamps inspired by promotional posters from Duran Duran’s live career.

Those designs celebrate the Careless Memories Tour, Sing Blue Silver Tour, Astronaut Tour and Invisible Tour.

Royal Mail celebrates Duran Duran’s cultural impact

David Gold, Director of External Affairs and Policy at Royal Mail, said the stamps reflect both the band’s recorded music and their distinctive visual approach.

“From iconic album artwork to unforgettable live performances, these stamps capture elements of the band’s remarkable creative journey while recognising their lasting impact on music and popular culture. We are delighted to honour Duran Duran as one of Britain’s most successful bands.”

Formed in Birmingham in 1978, Duran Duran have sold more than 100 million records worldwide.

The band were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, adding to a career that has included major international hits, acclaimed album campaigns and a long-running influence on pop culture and music visuals.

Duran Duran join Royal Mail’s music stamp collection

Duran Duran become the ninth music act to receive a dedicated Royal Mail Special Stamp issue.

Previous musical acts honoured by Royal Mail include The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Rolling Stones, Iron Maiden, Spice Girls, The Who and AC/DC.

The new collection therefore places Duran Duran alongside some of Britain’s and the world’s most influential rock and pop acts.

When are the Duran Duran Royal Mail stamps released?

Pre-orders for the Duran Duran stamps and associated collectible products open on 10 September 2026, through Royal Mail’s website and telephone ordering service.

General sale begins on 17 September 2026.

Among the available products is a £22.50 Presentation Pack, containing all 12 stamps from the collection.

The release comes during an active period for Duran Duran, following their single “Free To Love”, which features Nile Rodgers, and an accompanying remix collection.

The band are also scheduled to embark on a UK arena tour in autumn 2026, including a Halloween performance at London’s The O2.

The Royal Mail collection gives fans another way to mark a career that has now stretched across almost five decades.
