Lady Gaga is about to bring her unique touch to Wednesday Season 2 with a new track, The Dead Dance, set to drop on Wednesday 3 September. The pop superstar confirmed the release during the Wednesday Graveyard Gala hosted by Spotify and Netflix in New York City on Thursday night (August 28, 2025).
In an exclusive announcement, Lady Gaga shared her excitement about her involvement in the hit gothic drama series. She said, “I had a wonderful time working on Wednesday season two, even just being a small part of the show. I loved working with Tim Burton and Jenna [Ortega, who plays Wednesday Addams] and everyone here. It’s so incredible. Thank you. I’m also here to confirm my song The Dead Dance is coming.”
This marks another exciting chapter for the iconic pop artist, whose influence on the show extends beyond the music. In addition to The Dead Dance, Gaga is set to appear in a cameo role as Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious Nevermore Academy teacher with ties to Ortega’s character, Wednesday. The singer has been tight-lipped about her role, adding, “I don’t want to give away anything about being part of the show. I want to keep it extra secret – but I love Jenna and I really had an amazing time!”
The Dead Dance and a Tim Burton-directed music video
Alongside the song, fans can expect a theatrical music video directed by Wednesday mastermind Tim Burton. This collaboration promises to be visually as stunning and mysterious as the show itself.
The track, co-written by Gaga and her Mayhem collaborators Andrew Watt and Cirkut, fuels growing excitement for her contribution to the series. The song’s release also stirs speculation about Gaga’s full role in Wednesday Season 2, especially after she and Burton were spotted filming on Mexico’s eerie Island of the Dolls, a location famed for its unsettling atmosphere and ghostly legends.
Burton, who has worked closely with Gaga on this project, was full of praise for the artist, saying, “She’s such an artist… working with her is endlessly inspiring.”
What to expect from Wednesday Season 2
Gaga’s cameo and musical contribution come after the viral success of Wednesday‘s dance scene set to her 2011 hit Bloody Mary. With The Dead Dance arriving next week, fans of both Lady Gaga and the Wednesday universe are in for a thrilling, eerie ride that promises to be one of the highlights of this season.
