Oasis fans are set to get an unprecedented look behind the band’s long-awaited reunion, with a new documentary confirming the first joint interview between Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher in more than 25 years.
The feature-length film, created by Steven Knight, the writer behind Peaky Blinders, will arrive in cinemas on 11 September. The project is backed by Disney, Sony Music Vision and Magna Studios.
The documentary centres on Oasis’ blockbuster 2025 reunion tour, which saw the Gallagher brothers return to the stage together for the first time since the band’s dramatic split in 2009. The tour included sold-out dates at Wembley Stadium alongside concerts across the US, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Argentina and Brazil.
Backstage footage and new interviews confirmed
According to the official announcement, the documentary will include rehearsal footage, backstage moments and live performances captured throughout the global tour.
Most significantly for longtime fans, it will also feature the first joint interview with Noel and Liam Gallagher in over two decades, offering fresh insight into one of rock music’s most turbulent and influential partnerships.
Knight said:
“I wanted to tell the story of the brothers and the band, but just as important, the story of the fans whose lives the music has touched and sometimes changed forever.
“It is also the story of how music and songwriting can unite generations, cultures, countries and in a time of spite and division, give us all some reason to hope.”
The reunion fans waited 16 years to see
Oasis officially reunited in 2025 after years of speculation, public feuds and near-misses. The brothers’ relationship had fractured repeatedly following the band’s meteoric rise during the 1990s Britpop explosion, culminating in Noel quitting the band in 2009.
Despite years of public insults traded in interviews and on social media, the reunion tour delivered emotional scenes for audiences worldwide, with Liam and Noel frequently embracing and joking together on stage.
The setlists featured classic Oasis tracks including Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back in Anger, with demand for tickets reaching record levels in several countries.
Reports published during the tour estimated the reunion could earn the brothers around £50 million each, based on analysis from Birmingham City University.
Concert films continue to dominate cinemas
The Oasis film arrives during a major boom in music documentaries and concert cinema releases. Recent successes include Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour and Billie Eilish 3D Concert Experience directed by James Cameron.
Given Oasis’ cultural legacy and the scale of the reunion tour, the documentary is already shaping up as one of the most anticipated music film releases of 2026.
