Mona Miari is a Palestinian-American artist, singer, songwriter, and artistic director based in New York City. Her work is rooted in Palestinian and Levantine musical traditions while drawing on wider global influences, positioning her practice within cross-cultural contemporary music and performance.
She began performing at a young age and, at 15, headlined her first major concert at the Jerusalem festival The Capital of Arabic Culture, marking an early milestone in her professional career.

Miari’s music draws from Arabic vocal traditions, Levantine heritage, and contemporary global music forms. Her work combines classical Arabic melodic structures with modern arrangements and interdisciplinary performance elements.

Breakthrough Moments
One of Miari’s earliest documented milestones was her performance at age 15 at the Jerusalem Capital of Arabic Culture festival.
She has since performed at a range of internationally recognised venues, including Lincoln Center, BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), Opera America, Roulette Intermedium, Brooklyn Museum, Joe’s Pub at The Public Theater, and the National Sawdust in New York, as well as venues in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Berlin, and Palermo.
She has also appeared at major cultural festivals, including BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! and the Global Roots Festival, and became the first Arab singer to perform at the Hatch Memorial Shell in Boston with the Boston Landmarks Orchestra.
Artist Identity & Growth
Beyond performance, Miari is the Artistic Director and founder of the first Arab Chorus in New York City (NYAC), reflecting her focus on cultural preservation and collective vocal practice within diaspora communities.
Her work extends into interdisciplinary collaborations spanning music, theatre, and cultural projects. She has collaborated with internationally recognised artists and projects, including work associated with Roger Waters on a reworked project titled Uncomfortably Numb and related film work.
She also appears on Rumi Suite by Zülfü Livaneli alongside artists including Ibrahim Maalouf and others. The project has been submitted for Grammy consideration.
Miari has also collaborated with the Little Amal project, contributing to its wider cultural and humanitarian storytelling framework.
What’s Next
Miari is currently developing her debut album, scheduled for release in 2026. The project features original compositions created in collaboration with multiple artists and reflects her ongoing work in blending Arabic musical heritage with contemporary global production approaches.
She is also working on a project with Pink Floyd’s Roger Waters.
Alongside recording work, she continues to develop performance, artistic direction, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, including residencies at institutions such as The Pocantico Center, La Maison de Beaumont, and Abbaye de Royaumont.
