Rod Stewart was forced to pause a concert in Utah after appearing to nearly faint on stage, with the rock icon briefly using an oxygen tank before continuing the show.
The incident took place during Stewart’s performance on Saturday night as part of his ongoing One Last Time world tour. Video footage shared online shows the 81-year-old singer bending over and holding onto nearby equipment while finishing a song before receiving assistance from crew members.
Rod Stewart pauses concert after health scare
According to footage obtained by TMZ, Stewart appeared unsteady on his feet as he completed a performance before moving to the side of the stage.
Staff then brought an oxygen tank to him, allowing the singer to take several deep breaths before returning to address the audience.
“The show must go on.”
Stewart then told fans:
“I nearly f**king fainted.”
Despite the scare, the veteran performer remained in good spirits and attempted a brief dance before asking the crowd if he could continue the remainder of the show seated.
He ultimately completed the concert while sitting in a chair.
Health issues have disrupted recent tour dates
The latest incident comes during a challenging period for Stewart’s health.
Earlier this month, the Maggie May singer postponed several performances from his Las Vegas residency while recovering from flu-related illness.
In the weeks that followed, he cancelled four concerts and postponed two others as health concerns continued to affect his schedule.
One cancellation in California attracted criticism after Stewart was later photographed boarding a flight to attend Scotland’s World Cup match in Boston on the same day.
Rod Stewart previously diagnosed with respiratory infection
At the time of the California cancellation, Stewart’s team issued a statement explaining the reason for his absence.
“On the advice of his doctors and following a diagnosis of an acute upper respiratory infection that has resulted in laryngitis, he is unable to take the stage this evening.”
Stewart also shared an update with fans regarding his recovery.
“Following treatment, I’m feeling much better, but my voice is not.”
One Last Time tour continues
Despite recent health setbacks, Rod Stewart has continued performing dates on his One Last Time world tour.
The tour celebrates a career spanning more than six decades and features many of Stewart’s best-known hits, including Maggie May, Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?, Sailing and Forever Young.
