Gary Barlow Confirms Take That’s Circus Tour Has Ended For Good

Gary Barlow has confirmed that Take That will not bring The Circus Tour back for a third run, admitting the physically demanding production has become too much to perform.

The singer shared the news after the band’s final show at Aviva Stadium in Dublin on 4 July, bringing the revived stadium tour to a close.

Gary Barlow says The Circus Tour is over

Reflecting on the end of the tour in an emotional Instagram post, Barlow revealed he believes this was the final time fans will see the elaborate production.

“And another tour comes to a close. Somehow, this one feels a little different. With the other tours, it’s always comforting to know there will almost definitely be a next time. But I’m pretty sure this tour won’t return.

“I was 38 when we originally did this show, and I have to say it’s been a whole other challenge doing it as a 55-year-old. I just can’t see a way I could physically do this show again.

“So, it’s with an extremely heavy heart that I leave The Circus in my past. I got to run away with The Circus twice. Now I’m running towards our next exciting, brand-new show.”

The original Circus Tour first took place in 2009 and became one of Take That’s most ambitious live productions, featuring fire-breathers, stilt-walkers and a towering 30-foot mechanical elephant. The 2026 revival recreated many of those elements for a new generation of fans.

New Take That music is already in the works

Although The Circus Tour has come to an end, Barlow has already confirmed that Take That are working on new material.

Speaking to The Sun’s Bizarre column in 2025, he revealed the trio planned to return to the studio immediately after touring and suggested the band is moving away from the traditional album release cycle.

According to Barlow, fans increasingly expect new music to arrive more regularly rather than waiting several years between albums, making standalone releases a more appealing approach.

Busy year continues for Take That

The band have remained active throughout 2026 beyond the tour.

Earlier this year, Take That released a three-part Netflix documentary exploring the group’s rise to fame, internal struggles and long-running success. The series also featured the new song You’re A Superstar.

They have since followed it with another new single, Sweet July, signalling that more music is likely to arrive in the near future.

While The Circus Tour may now be part of Take That’s history, Barlow’s comments suggest the band’s next chapter is already well underway.
