BTS made their long-awaited return to the UK this week with two sold-out performances at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, drawing an estimated 130,000 fans across 6 and 7 July and setting a new attendance record for the venue.
The concerts marked the K-pop superstars’ first UK performances in seven years and formed part of their Arirang World Tour, which spans 88 shows across 34 regions worldwide.
BTS deliver record-breaking London performances
Performing on an immersive 360-degree stage, BTS brought fans into the centre of the action with a setlist that mixed songs from their new album Arirang with some of their biggest global hits.
The group performed new tracks including:
- SWIM
- 2.0
- Hooligan
- Like Animals
The set also featured fan favourites including:
- Butter
- Dynamite
- IDOL
One of the standout moments came during IDOL, when BTS and 50 dancers paraded around the stadium track carrying traditional-inspired props and illuminated ribbons in a large-scale production that transformed the venue into an immersive performance space.
London transformed into a BTS-themed city experience
The celebrations extended far beyond the stadium.
Throughout the week, London hosted a series of BTS-themed events and installations designed to give fans an immersive experience across the capital.
Major landmarks joined the festivities, including the London Eye, which was illuminated in honour of the group’s return, while a specially themed boat travelled along the River Thames.
British Museum and Korean cultural events celebrate BTS return
BTS also partnered with the British Museum on a special Korea Gallery Trail inspired by Arirang.
The experience invited visitors to explore historical Korean artefacts, including an iconic moon jar and objects from the ancient Silla Kingdom, drawing connections between Korean heritage and the themes explored on the new album.
Elsewhere, the Korean Cultural Centre UK hosted an exhibition showcasing stage outfits from BTS’s historic Wembley Stadium concerts in 2019.
Fans could also visit the Outernet district, where interactive experiences allowed visitors to design custom clothing and personalise their official light sticks.
Local businesses joined the BTS celebrations
The citywide project also partnered with the annual Jung Festival, encouraging fans to explore London’s independent Korean businesses and restaurants.
Participating venues included:
- SOOM
- Bunsik
- Tokkia
The initiative helped integrate the concerts into communities across the capital while highlighting Korean culture, food and creativity.
The London shows represent another major milestone in BTS’s return to live performances and demonstrate the group’s continued ability to turn a concert series into a cultural event that reaches far beyond the stage.
