Madonna Teases Confessions On A Dance Floor Sequel With ‘Confessions II’ Preview

Madonna has previewed what appears to be a sequel to her 2005 album Confessions on a Dance Floor, signalling a return to dance music with a new project widely referred to as Confessions II.

The singer shared the update on Tuesday 14 April by wiping her Instagram page and directing fans to her official website, where a new visual featuring her legs and a stereo speaker is now live. In a separate Instagram Stories post, the words “Confessions II” appear in bold text alongside a short instrumental teaser.

Madonna hints at new dance album era

Further clues point directly back to the Confessions on a Dance Floor era. Madonna’s Instagram bio now reads:

“Time goes by so slowly…”

The line references “Hung Up,” one of the defining singles from the 2005 album, reinforcing speculation that the new release will build on that sound and aesthetic.

No official release date or track details have been confirmed by her team.

Reunion with producer Stuart Price

The project will reunite Madonna with Stuart Price, who played a key role in shaping the original Confessions on a Dance Floor sound.

The album also follows her return to Warner Records, the label behind many of her most successful releases.

Reflecting on that reunion last year, Madonna said:

“From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again, and in fact, that couldn’t have been truer,”

“Since the beginning, Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.”

Where this fits in Madonna’s catalogue

If confirmed, the new album would follow her fourteenth studio record Madame X (2019) and the 2025 remix project Veronica Electronica.

Confessions on a Dance Floor remains one of Madonna’s most commercially successful and critically acclaimed albums, driven by club-focused production and global hits such as “Hung Up.”
