BRIT Awards 2027 Date Confirmed As Music Ceremony Returns To Manchester For 50th Anniversary

The BRIT Awards will return to Manchester’s Co-op Live on Saturday 27 February 2027, with organisers confirming the date for a landmark ceremony celebrating 50 years since the iconic music awards were first televised.

The event will once again be broadcast live across the UK on ITV1 and ITVX, following the success of the awards’ first move outside London in 2026.

BRIT Awards marks major milestone in 2027

The 2027 ceremony will represent a significant moment in the history of British music, marking exactly five decades since the first televised BRIT Awards.

Organisers say further details surrounding the anniversary celebrations, nominations and voting process will be announced in the months ahead.

The awards will again be staged at Manchester’s Co-op Live, the UK’s largest indoor entertainment arena, after the venue hosted the ceremony in 2026.

Stacey Tang returns as BRIT Awards Chair

Stacey Tang, Co-President of RCA Records UK, has been confirmed as Chair of the BRIT Committee for a second consecutive year.

Tang will oversee the creative direction and production of the ceremony, working alongside representatives from major and independent record labels, BRITs TV and the BPI.

Reflecting on the success of the previous event, Tang said:

“There was such an incredible energy around the 2026 show, across the city, the industry and with fans everywhere.”

She added that organisers are focused on building on the momentum generated by the awards’ Manchester debut while continuing to celebrate the breadth and diversity of British music.

Record-breaking audience for 2026 ceremony

The announcement follows what organisers describe as the most successful digital campaign in BRIT Awards history.

According to the BPI, the 2026 ceremony delivered the largest global audience reach and social media engagement figures the awards have ever achieved.

The show featured performances from major artists including Harry Styles, Mark Ronson, Olivia Dean and Rosalía.

Manchester partnership extends beyond awards night

The BRIT Awards’ presence in Manchester extended beyond the televised ceremony itself.

The inaugural BRITs Fringe programme brought live music events, industry activity and community initiatives to venues across the city in the lead-up to the awards.

A series of fundraising concerts and events also helped raise more than £1.16 million for War Child UK, the BRIT Awards’ long-standing charity partner.

Manchester City Council has welcomed the return of the event, highlighting the economic benefits and opportunities created for local artists, venues and young people working in music and the creative industries.

What to expect from BRIT Awards 2027

While performers, nominees and hosts have yet to be announced, expectations will be high for the awards’ 50th anniversary edition.

With a second year in Manchester now confirmed, organisers will be hoping to build on the success of 2026 while delivering a celebration worthy of one of British music’s most significant milestones.
